Depression Therapy in Pakistan

When getting through the day starts feeling like an achievement.

Depression isn't always obvious. You may feel tired even after sleeping. Things you once enjoyed may no longer feel meaningful. Small tasks can feel unusually difficult. You may withdraw from people, struggle to concentrate, or find yourself wondering why you don't feel like yourself anymore.

At Health & Psyche, I provide online depression therapy in Pakistan and for clients overseas, offering a confidential and compassionate space to understand what you're experiencing and work towards meaningful change.

Depression Can Affect More Than Your Mood

Depression is not simply feeling sad.

It can affect the way you think, sleep, work, relate to people, make decisions, and experience everyday life.

You may lose interest in things that once mattered to you. You may find yourself cancelling plans, avoiding people, or spending more time alone. Concentrating can become difficult, and even ordinary responsibilities can start to feel overwhelming.

"Why can't I just get myself together?"

"I should be able to handle this."

"Other people have it worse."

These thoughts can make it even harder to reach out.

Depression is not a failure of willpower.

Seeking therapy does not mean you have failed to cope.

Sometimes, getting better begins with not having to carry everything by yourself.

Depression Therapy for What You're Experiencing

Depression can look different from person to person. Therapy focuses on your individual experience rather than trying to fit you into a checklist.

Persistent Low Mood

You may feel sad, empty, numb, hopeless, or emotionally exhausted for much of the day. Sometimes the feeling isn't sadness at all, you may simply feel disconnected from yourself or from the people and things around you.

Therapy can provide a space to understand these changes and explore what may be contributing to them.

Loss of Interest & Motivation

Depression can affect motivation in ways that are often misunderstood as laziness. The things you once looked forward to may feel flat or unreachable.

Therapy can help you understand the cycle between mood, thoughts, behaviour, and withdrawal and gradually work towards reconnecting with activities that matter to you.

Negative Thoughts & Self-Criticism

You may feel like you're not good enough, that you've disappointed people, or that things won't improve. These patterns of thinking can become very persistent.

In therapy, we can explore these patterns of self-criticism and hopeless thinking and work towards developing more balanced and compassionate ways of relating to yourself.

Emotional Withdrawal

You may withdraw from friends, family, relationships, or social activities and feel increasingly alone even around people you care about.

Therapy offers a space where you don't have to pretend you're okay.

A Quick Check-In

You may want to consider speaking with a psychologist if you have recently noticed:

Has your emotional health started affecting everyday life?

  • Less interest or enjoyment in things you usually care about
  • Persistent sadness, emptiness, numbness, or hopelessness
  • Low energy or feeling tired most of the time
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Changes in sleep or appetite
  • Pulling away from people or activities
  • Feeling unusually critical of yourself or experiencing excessive guilt
  • Finding everyday responsibilities increasingly difficult
  • Feeling that life has become harder to manage than it used to be

Depression can affect people differently, and a proper assessment considers your symptoms, their duration, their impact on your life, and your individual circumstances.

If these experiences are affecting your everyday life, speaking with a psychologist can help you understand what you're going through and whether depression therapy may be appropriate.

“You don't need to diagnose yourself before seeking support.”

What to Expect From Depression Therapy

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong before starting. The first few sessions are about understanding your experience, once we have a clearer picture, therapy becomes more focused on the changes you want to make.

Sessions 1–2

Assessment & History

We begin with a detailed history of your current concerns, when they started, and how they're affecting your mood, sleep, relationships, work or studies, and daily functioning. We'll also discuss relevant personal, medical, and previous mental-health history.

Sessions 3–4

Formulation & Treatment Plan

Once we've understood the bigger picture, we'll identify the patterns contributing to your difficulties and agree on specific therapy goals. Depending on your needs, this may include CBT, behavioural activation, mindfulness, or other evidence-based approaches.

Sessions 5+

Active Therapy

Sessions become more focused on working with the patterns identified during assessment such as withdrawal, low motivation, negative thinking, self-criticism, or difficulty engaging in everyday activities.

Ongoing

Reviewing Progress

We'll regularly review what's changing, what remains difficult, and whether the treatment approach needs adjusting. As you make progress, therapy may gradually move towards strengthening your skills and preventing setbacks.

The timeline isn't fixed. Your treatment plan is shaped around your symptoms, goals, progress, and individual circumstances.

After taking online sessions from her i...

After taking online sessions from her i am already feeling very relieved. I believe this is the first time I opened up to someone and poured my heart out. Therapy sessions like you carry out must be normalized and i believe everyone should accept that taking therapy is for their own betterment and their loved ones. As everyone must be dealing with stress, depression, anxiety, OCD, low self esteem, family problems, relationship problems or any other kind of mental distress And for that they must talk to a professional who would not only treat them well but groom, counsel and help them heal for their better present and future. May Allah bless you ✨
